Update, July 15: We relaunched Shazon today!
Update, July 10: We haven't given up! We will have a new version posted by next Friday (July 17), and it will include some nice new features.
Update, June 5: We are reworking Shazon to use online retailers other than Amazon. Please watch for an update notification on your phone, or check back here next Friday (June 12). Amazon did not respond to our inquires this week, and we have learned they consistently reject these kinds of requests, so we don't expect to hear good news from them.
Original post, May 30: I'm sorry to say that we had to turn off our connection to Amazon today. As a result, we are not able to get their prices. If you use Shazon right now, you'll end up at this page.
Please be patient while we get things squared away with Amazon. We hope to learn more this week, so please check back on June 5 (next Friday). We will update this page when we learn more.
We also removed Shazon from the Android Market, since there's no point in having more people download the application until it is working properly.
All of this was necessary because Amazon asked us to stop using their servers. They believe we are violating their terms of use. We don't think we have, but we thought it was best to shut things down until we can come to an agreement. We contacted Amazon today, and we hope to hear back from them on Monday or Tuesday.
Hopefully, we will be able to resume the service as it was before. But if we can't continue with Amazon, then we will focus our efforts on other online stores. We were planning to do that anyway; this just makes doing that more important. (Ok, a lot more important.)
